Argyll and Bute Council will be managing a process for election of Community Councillors (who were not formally elected in 2022) during the next 2 months.
Currently C&K CC has 9 elected members (who are not up for re-election), 4 co-opted members who will need to stand for election in 2024 leaving 3 additional vacancies as we can have 16 Community Councillors. So the election will be held for 7 new members. All people over the age of 18 who are live in Cove and Kilcreggan can put themselves forward for the Community Council.
The community council currently meets every two months on the second Tuesday of the month in the Small Hall of Cove Burgh Hall. The past agendas / minutes are available on the Community Council website for information.
Further details of the process and links to nomination forms will follow once the Notice of Election is published on the 6th March 2024. The election Day is THURSDAY 2 MAY 2024 if more valid nominations are received than vacancies. (t-NOTE THIS DATE IS SUBJECT TO ANY ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING A UK PARLIAMENTARY GENERAL ELECTION)
