The Repopulation Zones in Argyll and Bute were identified through a multi-agency approach between Local Authorities in the West of Scotland, the Scottish Government, and Highlands and Islands Enterprise, as areas experiencing population decline. The Rosneath Peninsula was chosen as an area for research due to population data showing a decline in people of working age in the community (not a decline in overall population).
